Bombers Wrap Up 2010 Season
The Milwaukee Bombers concluded the 2010 season with their annual presentation and awards night this past weekend.

Congratulations to Adam Kanack who won the Milwaukee Bombers Best and Fairest award for 2010 on a Sunday night vote count at Plugger Okeefe's. Second year player Kanack took great strides this year becoming the bombers number 1 ruckman and key on field marking target. While small for a ruckman, Kanack's vertical leap, speed and endurance provided a matchup problem for opposition coaches. Kanacks second efforts were outstanding, virtually becoming a rover after the bounce and often following up to win the contested footy off his own tap. Kanack provided the Bombers with a much needed target around the ground and at kick ins, his arieal ability and contested marking producing some of the great highlights of the season. Kanack (13 votes) edged out Patrick Defors (11) and Regan Atkinson (10) for the award. Bomber captain Defors had a great season as a rebounding half back flank, demonstrating the skills he picked up during a recent season in Australia. Regan Atkinson was one of two 2010 scholarship players for the bombers who unfortunately had his season cut short due to a knee injury. While a ball magnet on the field, Atkinson was equally important off the field even after the injury, providing guidance to Milwaukee's developing players and leading the Bombers on their 2010 nationals campaign.

Andrew 'Rewster' Bradle took out the rookie of the year award beating out a hotly contest field including the speed merchant Matt lynch, forward Khon Chanthavong as well as backmen Ben Burkhart, Jason Peterson and Rich Grose. Rew's athletic ability saw him become a key player across half back and the wing for the bombers, being able to match up against talls as well as smaller running opposition.  Rews natural marking ability and eagerness for the contest was a highlight of his season. The Bombers look forward to watching Rew develop even further as a player during his second season.

Ruth Alverez took home the coveted best supporter trophy, wrangling it from the hands of Al and Nancy. Ruth was at almost every bombers game and took some magnificent photos of the Bombers both on and off the field. The team thanks Ruth as well as all the other supporters for their encouragement throughout the season.
