|Thomas and Humphrys Named Best and Fairest 2009|
The Milwaukee Bombers officially closed out the 2009 season with Presentation Night this past Saturday evening.The players gathered at Paul "Irish" Conway and Nina Girolamo's home to celebrate the hard work of 2009, a Divy 2 Grand Final appearance for the men, and a championship for the Lady Bombers.
Several awards were given throughout the night culminating with Best and Fairest. Suzy Thomas capped a brilliant 2009 with B&F for the Lady Bombers while Rob Humphrys received Best & Fairest honors for the second year in a row. Best New Player went to Tara Byers and Jason Kmiecik. The Coach's Award went to Bomber Cory Malchow and Lady Bomber Denielle Beilfuss. The Bolt Award was captured by Sandy Bradley for her outstanding service to the Bombers.
The Milwaukee Bombers are proud to field both a mens and womens club - with this comes family members who represent both sides . Veteran Paul Raisanen received the award for "My Sister Hits Harder Than Me" Award and Dan Sarbacker, recipient of "My Sister is Better than Me," was outplayed by sister Jenny. Congratulations Katie Raisanen and Jenny Sarbacker for showing the guys how the game is played!
In addition, Australians Dan "Dingo" Higham (Scholarship Player 2007) and Jamie Anderson (Scholarship Player 2009) were recognized for their service and commitment to the club. Higham returned to the Bombers after playing in the 2007 season as Milwaukee's Scholarship recipient. The club will miss you both on and off the field - we hope you come back in the future. Superfans Al Boake and Nancy Vrabec were honored as Milwaukee's #1 supporters for their continued dedication to the club. An appreciation award was also given to Nina Girolamo for her front office duties and keeping the club in working order.
