Bombers play Halftime Demo at Bradley Center

During halftime of the Iron/Overstayers arena football game, the Milwaukee Bombers showcased the great game of Australian Rules football. On the PA mike was Paul "Plugger" O'Keefe, who educated the crowd of 5,000 about the game.

The Bombers held a demonstration of footy, with a full contact 6v6 game The game was free-flowing with adapted rules for the smaller field. Behinds were played on live (arena football has netting on either side of the goal posts) and play-after-goals started from the back. Said Lady Bomber captain and US Freedom national team member, Denielle Beilfuss, "We are all passionate about Aussie Rules and are excited we had the opportunity to show the game to Milwaukee. We are always looking for new players." Beilfuss is part of the US Freedom who will be competing in Australia come August during a two week competition.

After the game, the Bombers and the New Zealand National Arena football team (The Overstayers), mingled on the field sharing stories and taking pictures. The Overstayers were surpirsed and excited to see "Aussie Rules" so far from home. Equally amazed, the Bombers learned that New Zealand has an American football league much like US Footy.

The halftime show was carried live on local Milwaukee Time Warner Sports 32.
