Milwaukee Knocked Out of MAAFL Hunt
Saturday, September 13, Milwaukee took on Lake Michigan rivals Chicago.  Conditions were a bit soggy but overall perfect for footy.  The Bombers had high hopes on regaining the MAAFL title and a win would have sealed the deal.  The math could have given Milwaukee the title even with a loss. Chicago, as always, stood in the way.

From the opening bounce it was apparent that Chicago had the upper hand despite a noticeable up-tick in Milwaukee’s aggressiveness and desperation for the footy…something that had gone missing in recent matches.  Chicago’s tight defense and fit wingers kept the Bomber’s backline scrambling throughout the day. Those scoring opportunities were not wasted as Chicago took turns keeping the goal umpires busy.

In a strange twist, Jeremy Moore’s goal after the siren threw a wet blanket over any immediate celebration by Chicago as both sides cranked up the super-computer to calculate the MAAFL ladder re-shuffle.  The way it sits now, Milwaukee will finish behind Chicago but Nashville could spoil everyone’s day with a big win over Minnesota next weekend.
