 Milwaukee Bombers 12.13 (85) d No. 7 Nashville Kangaroos 6.5 (41)

August 2, 2008 Milwaukee, WI

The Milwaukee Bombers overran Nashville on Saturday for a 44-point win against the Roos.

In what was a must-win for the Bombers to keep their MAAFL Premiership hopes alive, Milwaukee did the job of taking down Nashville through their best footy of the year. Despite the ‘Roos unending pressure throughout the game, Milwaukee’s overall control of the footy and dominance in mid-field allowed the Boys to control nearly every aspect of the game.

As the game slipped away from Nashville, their frustrations became apparent. Milwaukee however maintained their focus, repelled repeated attacks, created space by a quick secession of handballs out of danger followed by deliberate kicks to targets up front for each score. The Bombers’ “Boy Band” did the hard work of creating scoring opportunities and full-forward Heath Whelan pulled down some terrific marks.

“We just played great footy today,” said coach heath Moore.  “I asked each player to give me their best today and I got it.”

Final Score - 12.13 (85) Bombers to 6.5 (41) Roos

Best: Rob Humphries, Andy Vanica, Ross Siegel, Daron Gresham, Pete Apostolitis
