Milwaukee Bombers Australian Rules Football Club

Recruitment Day – May 10th, 2008 2:00pm – Kletzsch Park, Glendale

Australian Football is thriving in Milwaukee Wisconsin and the mighty Bombers announce another Recruitment Day and BBQ on May 10th, 2008 2:00pm at Kletzsch Park, Glendale to kick off the 2008 summer season. After the election of the First Female President in the country for this code of football, Julie Upton stated, “I’m really excited about the future of footy in Milwaukee. Our new board now consists of 3 women and 4 men, all tried and tested party animals – we’re in for a lot of fun off the field and, of course, continuing success on the field”. Founding member and past President Paul O’Keeffe, who has been an integral part of the success the club has enjoyed from its inception over 10 years ago. “We’ve always tried to be leaders in the USFooty movement,” he states. “We’ve always fielded a predominately US players team rather than an ex-pat’s team, we initiated a “player swap” scholarship program with a Perth based club in Australia, we were first to introduce footy into the Elementary schools, we’ve had our women’s team up and running for a few years now and of course, the 2005 Nationals tournament in Milwaukee set the benchmark for future competitions.” For those interested in Australian Football, the Milwaukee Bombers have a website which gives an interesting insight to this Down Under sport as well as all contact information or contact Doren James on (414) 704-8359 or Paul O’Keeffe on (414) 460-4406.
