Bombers Overwhelm Tenacious Blues
Milwaukee put on a show of clean, smart footy against St. Louis in Germantown last Saturday.  In their first true MAAFL test, the Bombers’ return to form resulted in an 82 point thumping of the Blues giving life to a second straight MAAFL premiership. The win puts Milwaukee on top of the MAAFL ladder.

On paper, St. Louis should have held up well against Milwaukee and in the opening seconds that appeared to be true with the Blues easily scoring the first major. Milwaukee quickly answered though and never looked back. Despite a rash of inaccurate goal kicking in the first quarter, the Bombers dominated in every aspect of the game with the notable exception of ruck taps and some very hard albeit unfruitful work from St. Louis around the ball.  This tenacity was rewarded as the Blues where able to poke through the Bomber defense for 37 points.

“Our disposal and decision-making was the best I’ve seen on a while,” said Coach Colin Langley.  “We’re still not at full-strength so it was good to see some of the newer players step up.”

While they now sit on top of the ladder by percentage, the Brew City must now finish out the MAAFL season with away games against Nashville and Chicago.  The next home game is August 11 again the New York Magpies.

Final Scores
Milwaukee Bombers 17. 17. 119
St Louis Blues            5.  7.   37
Best: D. Checkai (Mil), P. Defors (Mil), M Perrone (Mil)
