Shorthanded Dockers Give it shot

On Saturday, June 23rd, the Cincinnati Dockers made their way north to face the Milwaukee Bombers. In warm, humid conditions, the teams took to the field and played a spirited game of footy.

Due to a lack of numbers in the visiting squad, some Milwaukee players donned the anchor and helped out the boys from Ohio.

The scores were fairly respectable at quarter time, but the Bombers slowly took a stranglehold on the game and ran away comfortable victors.

The combination of the curtain raiser, women’s team, and MAAFL squad worked well with everyone enjoying the setup. Despite both teams losing experienced players early in Captain Kyle and Coach Col, the game continued to be played at an excellent pace.  It was great to see a serious game of footy when there were no points on the line. It was even better to see both teams enjoying themselves on the field.

Full credit for the guys from Cincy for making the journey north when they could just as easily have blown the game off. This professionalism in the approach to game day is something that we are familiar with as Milwaukee Bombers players.  It was a fantastic day that was enjoyed by all. Excellent effort from the Bombers players and fans. We look forward to the next hit out, and the next win.
