Wrap-up: Anzac Day
What a great afternoon Sunday the 24th of April turned out to be.  About 50 Aussies and a handful of Kiwi's gathered at the Lakeview Entertainment Center on Pewaukee Lake to celebrate ANZAC Day. Plenty of good Aussie wine was flowing along with new Aussies attending their first Wisconsin function and many longer term Aussies catching up after a long winter.

ANZAC Day 2005

(Pewaukee, WI) - What a great afternoon Sunday the 24th of April turned out to be.

Bob Charles, the newly appointed Consul General from Chicago, made the trek up to Wisconsin and enjoyed socializing with us before talking to us about the significance of Anzac Day and that we must never forget what our soldiers did for us.

We then phoned Dromana, Victoria where Peter Kerr's father was taking part in the dawn service there. We were able to listen to this over the speaker phone and many people were clearly touched by this.  It took many of us home just for a short period.

Thanks to Peter Kerr for organizing this event.

The next Social Event will be Aussiefest on Big Cedar Lake Sunday, August 21st.
