High Interest Day

The Milwaukee Bombers took to the schools to spread the word about Australian Rules Football on April 11th.

3 sessions were held in the morning at Underwood Elementary and 2 afternoon sessions were held at Eisenhower Elementary.  Kids from first grade to fifth grade were eager to learn about a new sport and try their hand at the new skills required to play the game.

For five weekends during the spring, Wauwatosa kids were introduced to Australian Rules football.  In one of the first organized Aussie rules kids programs offered in the country, over twenty kids between the ages of 8 through 16 had the opportunity to work on their handballing, marking, and kicking skills at Longfellow grade school with some of the premier members of the Milwaukee Bombers football club.

The Milwaukee Bombers are proud to announce that the Wauwatosa Recreation Department will be holding a five-week program highlighting USfootyKids. USFootyKids is the US version of Auskick, Australia's most popular children's program. Using sequential learning steps, children are taught the skills and rules of the game while at the same time learning all the great aspects of team sport, such as friendship, health, fitness and community.
