Favre spurns Bombers, returns to Packers
Joomla Popin Window by DART Creations

For immediate release, August 4, 2008.

Brett Favre, future NFL hall of famer, and once-again Green Bay quarterback, returned to Green Bay late Sunday afternoon to continue his career under center. The Bombers can only assume recent headlines mean he will not be joining the Milwaukee Bombers. Perhaps the lifetime supply of meat pies was not enough to take center stage and play Australian football in Wisconsin with the Milwaukee Bombers. The Bombers are part of the United States Australian Football League.

"It was certainly a long shot,” said Australian native and Director of Personal for the Bombers Julie Upton. She continued, “"Brett would slot into our side as our starting center-half-forward, considered the toughest position to play in Aussie rules. While we are disappointed of his decision, the door remains open, indefinitely." Current center-half-forward Paul O'Conner declined comment.

Milwaukee Bombers Australian Rules Football Club

Recruitment Day – May 10th, 2008 2:00pm – Kletzsch Park, Glendale

Australian Football is thriving in Milwaukee Wisconsin and the mighty Bombers announce another Recruitment Day and BBQ on May 10th, 2008 2:00pm at Kletzsch Park, Glendale to kick off the 2008 summer season. After the election of the First Female President in the country for this code of football, Julie Upton stated, “I’m really excited about the future of footy in Milwaukee. Our new board now consists of 3 women and 4 men, all tried and tested party animals – we’re in for a lot of fun off the field and, of course, continuing success on the field”.
A Home Run for the Bombers
ImageOn Saturday, March 29th we kicked off the Brewer's Fundraiser for our first scheduled game of the season.  Overall, it was a great success as we were commended for "doing a great job", so much so that we actually had one of our volunteers go help another group that was struggling to keep up.  We took orders, ran the registers, cooked the brats and even had some time to sneak out to catch a bit of the game.  Admittedly, a lot of us thought it was going to be pretty tough, but it was a lot of fun and very doable.  It was a great first step for us in what looks to be a very promising fundraiser for the team.
2008 Season Opening Party

Party, Party, Party

Saturday 29th March 2008 saw the opening Season Party for the Mighty Milwaukee Bombers. Tif was delightful as ever and in direct contrast to Plugger who, I’m grateful for, finally hung the bathroom door 2 minutes before he showered and 10 minutes before guests arrived. The alternative is too frightening to think about. It was good to see everyone again after such a long winter and as the crowd swelled towards 50, both BBQ’s were fired up and both beer tubs started getting a work-out – as only a footy party can do.
